Our unique formula, based on 25 years’ experience of bringing amazing holiday performing arts experiences to children, means that every week is different so children can attend as many as they like.

We start with the name of the theme – that’s all! Over the course of 5 days the students invent the story, choose the songs and dance numbers, devise the scenes and script the play (with us following on behind typing things up) before putting on an amazing show for families and friends. It's the best way for every child to shine in a unique show created around them.

Week 1: '25 Years of Disney'
Mon 24 July - Fri 28 July 2023
Celebrating 25 years of Best Theatre Arts by creating a musical inspired by the last 25 years of Disney films and shows. That includes Star Wars, Marvel, and Pixar. There's lots to choose from, so come along and play your favourite character, dance and sing to your favourite tunes. A 5 day musical theatre holiday camp with a show at the end for family and friends.

Week 2: '25 years of Broadway
Mon 31 July - Fri 4 August 2023
Continuing our 25th Anniversary celebrations, our 2nd week of musical theatre for young people will be all about Broadway musicals. So many great musicals were launched in the last 25 years, from Mama Mia to Hamilton, Wicked to Dear Evan Hansen. Which Broadway numbers will make it into our show? Join us for a week of singing, dancing and acting with a show at the end for family and friends at The Sandpit Theatre.

Week 3: 'The Best 25 Years'
Tue 8 August - Sat 12 August 2023
Over the last 25 years there have been a lot of fabulous shows and musicals at Best Theatre Arts that have included songs and themes from the world of movies, pop, rock, jazz,folk and of course musical theatre, During our 5 day interactive musical theatre camp we will bring together the best of the last 25 years. A best of the best battle! Will Rock Song return? Dance your favourite style (street dance, jive, Bollywood or something else) and create your best character. We will celebrate everything musical in our last week of holiday courses which is going to be simply the best!


How the Week Works:

Day 1 - We get to know each other, play games and start to think about the songs and dances we'd like to feature. By the end of the day we will have an outline of the story we are going to tell.

Day 2 & 3 - Mornings are spent in our age groups (usually 6-8, 9-11 and 11+) in acting, singing and dancing classes, devising scenes for the show and working on our musical numbers. In the afternoons we come together to work on opening/finale numbers and to show each other what we've been up to in the mornings.

Day 4 - We start to put the show together and by the end of the afternoon we might just have staggered through a full run!

Day 5 - Into the theatre with costumes and make-up. We rehearse, dress rehearse and then it's show time!

The camp is based in Sandringham School on The Ridgeway, St Albans, with our show on the last day of camp at one of the schools performance venues, usually the 260 seat Sandpit Theatre.
